Say Goodbye to Brackish Water Woes in Qatar with Enviromatch’s Reverse Osmosis System

Updated:

Water is a precious resource, and its scarcity is a growing concern worldwide. Qatar, in particular, faces significant water scarcity issues due to its arid climate and increasing population. To address this challenge, Enviromatch has designed and supplied a state-of-the-art brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) system that can process 2 x 2,000 cubic meters of water per day.

Skid-mounted Brackish Water RO System

Enviromatch’s BWRO system is skid-mounted, which means it can be easily transported and installed at different locations. The system uses reverse osmosis to treat brackish water, which is water that has a higher salinity than freshwater but lower salinity than seawater. The reverse osmosis process involves passing brackish water through a semi-permeable membrane that removes impurities such as salts, minerals, and other contaminants, resulting in clean and safe drinking water.

Pre-Chlorination Feed System

Before entering the RO system, the brackish water is disinfected using a pre-chlorination feed system. Pre-chlorination helps to remove organic matter, bacteria, and viruses from the water, making it safe for further treatment.

Chemical Pre-Treatment/Post-Treatment

Enviromatch’s BWRO system also includes a chemical pre-treatment/post-treatment process to remove any impurities that may clog or damage the semi-permeable membrane. This process involves adding specific chemicals that help to stabilize the water’s pH and prevent scaling and fouling of the RO membrane.

Automatic Multimedia Filtration

To further ensure the quality of the treated water, the BWRO system includes an automatic multimedia filtration process. This process uses multiple layers of media, such as sand, gravel, and anthracite, to remove any remaining particles or impurities that may have passed through the RO membrane.

Automatic Flushing CIP Unit

The BWRO system also includes an automatic flushing clean-in-place (CIP) unit, which helps to maintain the system’s cleanliness and efficiency. The CIP unit automatically flushes the system with clean water and disinfectants to remove any buildup of contaminants.

PLC Control

Finally, the entire BWRO system is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC). The PLC is responsible for monitoring and controlling the entire water treatment process, ensuring that the system operates efficiently and effectively.

Conclusion

Enviromatch’s BWRO system is a state-of-the-art solution for treating brackish water in Qatar. The system’s skid-mounted design, pre-chlorination feed system, chemical pre-treatment/post-treatment, automatic multimedia filtration, automatic flushing CIP unit, and PLC control ensure that the treated water is safe, clean, and free from contaminants. With Enviromatch’s BWRO system, Qatar can address its water scarcity issues and provide its population with a reliable source of clean and safe drinking water.
